in 2009, practice mmbb won an architectural contest that would define the project for the music center in campos de jordão, a support facility to auditório cláudio santoro, where the winter festival takes place.
when they were developing the executive project, nu was called to design the sign system project.
we designed an initial m for the facility, relating to classic graphic music interpretations and the woods in which the facility would be built.
considering the international audience that would visit the building, the information signs project was based on the idea of placing verbal language in the background, focusing more on colors and symbols.
the colors were used to identify the large areas of the facility (dormitories, auditoriums, studios and services), and all the directional information was accompanied by the corresponding language.
we used aiga's arrows and pictograms.
the signs were designed as folded metal plates, to be screen printed and glued to the structure.
to its side, all types of internal signs: directional, identification, bathroom identification, fire escape routes, and the general map of the facility, which would be located in the reception.
here, the two external signs: one directional and another identifying the facility, facing the road.
