bamboo 8 is about rio de janeiro, and we made the cover divided in 4 equal lines, with the horizontal landscape taking over the composition.
with this issue the rio guide was released, the last featuring a geographic cover.
the cover for issue 9 was a repetition of the structure on issues 1 and 3: a composition of images over white, featuring a dominant image.
our most remarkable intervention in this issue was the wall section.
on the opening section (traditionally in a color plan) we merged the image with the color plan and the typography with the image.
in this case the images had been made specifically for the magazine, and we composed the images of the products over the landscape images.
it was a shame to have so many products on the lower part of the page, where white should be seen...
and here the last double-page spread.
this is bamboo's first annual edition, a double issue of january and february, 2012.
the issue features projects designed by 22 architects for their residencies, all of them appear on the cover.
the opening of the projects sections features all the titles.
in each project, we tried to display the title in a way that it came from its own content.
the issue's pantone is silver, and in some situations is overlaps the text and the images.
on the opening of this house, designed by vilanova artigas, silver was used to frame a square of the magazine's structure.
on the guides for the first issue of 2012, we started a new series of covers: modular geometric panels, always designed from a characteristic of the city.
são paulo's guide is inspired by the cement tiles in the city's sidewalks, a diagram of the state.
the brasília guide, released on the same issue, uses the national congress and the panels of athos bulcão.
these two issues were made at nu.
